This is our second harvest from Montgomery Melghem, a Marcalino from one of the town's pioneering family. Finca San Pablo is a tranquil farm nestled in a valley abundant with wildlife passed down for over 100 years.
Marcala is a region propelled by the coffee economy, and the town of Marcala is the city that coffee built. Coffee runs deep here with no shortage of trade at every level of the industry. There are thousands of coffee producers (most of them organic), a handful of co-ops, mills, exporters, and some really good coffee shops to enjoy a cup so good, it has its own DOC.
This washed Anacafe 14 is a textbook example of Marcala coffee, fragrant with floral notes and honey sweetness, paired with a creamy body and light citrus acidity.
This lot was cupped and exported by COMSA, a groundbreaking co-op which
enriches the lives of its members, their families, and really the whole town with the abundant transfer of knowledge from anything like organic farming, language, hospitality, and of course coffee processing. COMSA is empowering a whole generation of coffee professionals to push the envelope of what Honduran coffee can be.
